Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Just as Bharathiraja mentions about Shankar’s taste for quality films, the filmmaker comes with plethoric praises for certain movies. Much precisely, he has openly appraised ‘3 Idiots’ as a wonderful film that has entertained almost every class of audiences.‘Recently, I watched the film ‘3 Idiots’ was just awestruck with the making style, it’s ingredients and a social message that has influenced present-age people to a greater magnitude’ says Shankar, who is busy now shooting for the patch-up works of ‘Endhiran’.Adding more onto this, the filmmaker said that he would like make such films that surely have a great impact on audiences. Will Shankar have an eye for this remake now? Guess what? The entire town is excited about his talk and maybe he has the ability to bring the titans together and remake it with ostentating colors.

Veteran Ravi - “A.R.Rahman’s music is Fast food’

When the entire globe is praising A.R. Rahman with such titles – Madras Mozart, academy award winner, Grammy winner and so on, ace music director Ravi is precisely dismayed with this musician. Know what? The music director has blatantly mentioned that A.R. Rahman’s musical score as a fast-food, which is simpleterms means – ‘Junk Food’.
Music Director Ravi was present in Sri Lanka to attend the musical program – Geeth Maduri 2010… During that occasion, Ravi said, “There isn’t any synch between the lyrics and music scored by music director A.R. Rahman. But Ilayaraja can be regarded as the God of contemporary music as he gives more prominence for lyrics.”
Ravi is well known in golden period of Hindi cinema as he made spellbinding works with ‘Ghunghat’, ‘Gharana’, ‘Grashti’, ‘Do Kaliyan’ and more.

Shriya replaces Trisha in Don Seenu

Shriya who has a foot in all the south languages has replaced Trisha in a film. The fairy who was out of Tollywood for some time is returning with a bang. Her comeback film in Telugu opposite Ravi Teja is ‘Don Seenu’, which was originally offered to Trisha.

But Trisha who is still busy shooting for her first Hindi film ‘Khatta Meeta’ with Akshay Kumar will not be able to get ready for ‘Don Seenu’ in time. More over Trisha also has another big film in Tamil ‘Yavarum Kelir, directed by K S Ravikumar, which requires bulk dates from her. As she will be seen with Kamal Haasan- Madhavan in ‘Yavarum Kelir’ she can’t afford to mess up. Smart Trisha so opted out of the Telugu film.

Meanwhile Shriya‘s first Malayalam film ‘Pokkiri Raja’ with Mammootty and Prithviraj is ready and she is waiting for her moment in Kollywood.
Shriya is returning to Tollywood after almost five years. She will also be seen doing an item number for S J Suryah directed ‘Puli’ with Pawan Kalyan.

Miss Universe Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has now got herself engaged into a new business. It seems that the actress has believed that she is slightly getting aged and would gradually loose out offer in mere future. Well, that makes her opt for a different business now.

According to the closer sources, the actress has been spending quality time over designing jewels. Right now, she has almost completed shooting for Rajnikanth’s ‘Endhiran’ and Manirathnam’s ‘Raavana’ in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
As well, she is busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hindi film ‘Guzarish’, where she pairs opposite Hrithik Roshan in female lead.

Aishwarya – Vikram Chemistry

Vikram is all smiles about the way ‘Raavan’ is being shaped up by Mani Ratnam. The ‘Cheeyan’ says the film is going to be a milestone in his career sine he is playing the protagonist in the Tamil version and antagonist in the Hindi version, which has not been attempted so far by any actor.

“This shows the immense faith Mani sir had on me. I was stunned to see myself in two different attitudes within minutes. And I made others on the sets too surprised. It’s all because of the master of perfection- Mani Ratnam,” he says.
Admiring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the leading lady of the film, he says, “She is stunningly beautiful and a thorough professional. Her dance movements were amazing. And the chemistry we shared for the film was great. One could feel it while watching the movie on screen."
Saying he became a very good friend of Abhishek Bachch, his other co-star in 'Raavan', Vikram says, "But Abhishek knew me very well even before 'Raavan' happened. He said he had seen 'Dhil', 'Dhool' and 'Sami' many times."

But I will not lose the status of a singer. There are wonderful music composers in Mumbai. I will work with them. With regard to acting I am listening to many stories but none are attracting me.”

Realms Of Hindi Film In Chennai Box Office

Hindi Cinema has witnessed a bloom of one more golden era at the present age. Gone are those days of B-Town Mumbaikars being interested in romantic entertainers with most of them canned across foreign locales. But the last few months have been disapproving of such motifs with brilliantly spectacular flicks topping on charts.Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Paa’, Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’ and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘My Name is Khan’ have eclipsed even the biggest Tamil films of this season.Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’ loosely based on Chetan Bhagat’s ‘Five Point Someone’ was ennobled as best film for it unbelievable record-breaking collection in Chennai alone. The film witnessed house-packed shows consecutively for 25days, which is something unusual here. Similarly, Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Paa’ was very well received amongst Chennaites, since the film had a pleasant surprise for buffs with English subtitles. Appositely, the film attracted larger crowds of non-Hindi speaking cohorts as well. And now, we have Bollywood’s Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan striking off the biggest deal globally with his ‘My Name is Khan’. The film is produced by Shah Rukh Khan himself in collaboration with Fox Star Studios, Fox Searchlight Pictures and Karan Johar.Much prior to the film’s release, the entire town was so excited about ‘MNIK’ as it brings back SRK-Kajol 9 long years after the success of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ with Karan Johar. And now, there are more reasons why you should ‘My Name is Khan’. The film partially reminiscences of Forrest Gump with Tom Hanks embarking a heart-touching quest of love and Shah Rukh just sweep us off with his mind-boggling performance.

‘Avatar’ overtakes BO collections in the North

‘Avatar’ overtakes BO collections in the North

James Cameron’s magnificent spectacle in its 3D version in English is clearly ahead of Hindi films such as ‘3 Idiots’ in multiplexes in the Northern belt (predominantly a Hindi speaking market). While the collections of Aamir Khan’s film were reported to be Rs 24 Lakhs from the 4 major multiplexes where 3D is available, ‘Avatar’ raced ahead with a collection of around 39 Lakhs. In fact in PVR Select City & PVR Ambience, ‘Avatar’ (3D) has already grossed a record breaking 1.5 Crores each.

Even in its 4th week of release, ‘Avatar’ is still ruling the Indian Box Office and having grossed Rs 83 crores till date, it is all set to become the biggest Hollywood film ever in India.
The collections from the 3D screens is more than encouraging – with 54 3D screens (9%) contributing to 35% of the total three week box office collection in India.
Worldwide too, the film has beaten all competition and has now hit the No.2 spot by becoming the highest grossing movie (globally) of all time after Cameron’s own ‘Titanic’.

AR Rahman Destiny Child Turns 45

Wednesday, January 6, 2010
AR Rahman – Destiny’S Child Turns 45

Ever heard about a famous proverb that says – The Men who scaled greater heights toiled while others were sleeping… If there needs to be an illustration for an entity, who strived creatively hard with dedication and passion for the work he was engaged with, it cannot get better than A.R. Rahman.Just as the tagline of his famous ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ says –

‘From Rags to Riches’, A.R. Rahman has manifestly proven this mantra of success. He’s been intensively hemmed with piousness and believes that God alone can make wonders happen.

Born as Dileep Kumar on Jan 5, 1966, the young lad didn’t go through a legato of uplifted childhood. His father R.K. Sekhar, wizardry in instrumentations passed away at Rahman’s early ages and he was raised by his mother Kasturi (Later rechristened as Kareema). As Kamal Haasan said, “There isn’t anything called ‘LUCK’ for those who deserve it”, A.R. Rahman got himself worthy to claim this call and worked harder to peak through the glorious path, though he wasn’t specific about the results. This day, A.R. Rahman is swaying across the epitome of success with his musical bonanzas reaching towards the far-flung corners and abysses of the globe.‘A Man of Few Words’ – A.R. Rahman holds a special mention for being a genuine personality, who maintains cordial relationship with everyone. And perhaps, this could be the only reason of fetching a best team.At this age, he turns to be a role model for aspirational youngsters, which doesn’t stop with his profession, but extends further into the personal life as well. A.R. Rahman has been a son who makes his mother embellished with honor and happiness, a lovable husband, an adorable father and a friendly person.Ages may pass, but his magnificent deed and resplendent gestures will keep him rejuvenated with youthfulness in years to come as A.R. Rahman himself jocularly said – “Next time you offer me ‘Life Time Achievement Award, please rethink and don’t make me older…” while bagging Life Time Achievement Award at IIFA. Moreover his message at Academy Awards Ceremony – ‘I chose Love and I’m here’ had just awestruck everyone to stride on the same paths. We, as the members of Top10Cinema wish a very happy birthday and extend our heartiest regards that’ll gain more fetes and laurels.

Paa for Tendulkar

Paa for Tendulkar

The success of Paa and his excellent portrayal as 12-year-old progeria patient has put Amitabh Bachchan in a pedestal that is very difficult for the actors to reach. The Big B’s performance was praised by several actors across the country, the notable among them being Rajinikanth, Waheeda Rahman etc. Now Big B wants to show the film to thespian Dilip Kumar and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Amitabh had posted in his blog that he would arrange a special screening for Dilip Kumar soon and would wait for Sachin to finish the Sri Lankan series. Paa is a critically acclaimed film that has Abhishek Bachchan playing Amitabh’s father.

Asin rescued by SRK

Tuesday, December 29, 2009
Asin rescued by SRK ?

‘Ghajini’ star Asin Thottumkal had King Khan coming to her rescue when she was caught in a difficult and awkward situation at a Mumbai event recently. Around 300 persons, who posed themselves as the actress' fans, tried to mob around Asin and got close uncomfortably.
Shah Rukh was also to the event, with his six well-built security guards at the next room. Seeing the damsel in distress in no time SRK came to the rescue of the beauty and instructed his guards to set thing right. The guards helped her wriggle free of the gang of 300.
The timely intervention of SRK and his body guards finally helped her feel relieved. Asin now a popular face in North, having acted opposite to the likes of Aamir and Salman should think of getting out with her own security from next time.
